Mode of Action of Alkasol Syrup

Disodium hydrogen citrate, an alkylating agent, is a component of alkasol.

Alkasol works by reducing the acidity of the blood and urine.

It is an alkaline salt that turns into bicarbonate in our bodies.

By reducing the acidity of the urine, this bicarbonate prevents a burning sensation in the urine.

As the acidity of the urine decreases, the bacteria begin to die because bacteria can grow in an acidic environment but struggle to thrive in an alkaline environment.
