There is no difference in its effectiveness if taken with food or on an empty stomach.

50% of its absorbed amount is excreted in the urine within 24 hours.

In adults, Cefixime is dispense at a dose of 200 mg twice a day.

Cefixime is given by weight in children 6 months to 12 years of age.

Its dosage is 8 mg/kg/day. It can also be given at a rate of 4 mg per kg twice a day.

Cefixime is also completely safe for pregnant women.

Dosage of Cefixime 200 mg Tablet in Patients with Renal Failure

No dosage adjustment is required if the patient’s creatinine clearance is greater than 60.

If the patient’s creatinine clearance is between 21 and 60, a dose of 260 mg/day is recommended

If the patient’s creatinine clearance is less than 20, a dose of 200 mg/day should be used.
